Allison Bienenfeld

“Everything can always be different!” Alfred Adler. I believe that seeking to create change is one of the most courageous actions a person can take in his or her life. Individuals, couples, or families can feel stuck for a number of different reasons. Together, we will work to identify goals and tools to help you feel “unstuck”. I use a trauma-sensitive approach to help people cope, heal, and grow from hurtful past experiences to achieve a higher level of satisfaction in their relationships with themselves, others, and the world. To me, therapy is about developing a trusting relationship with a neutral party to discuss your hopes, wishes, pains, and sorrows. I use a strengths-based approach to highlight the individual resiliency in you to overcome life’s obstacles. I find this is best achieved through conversation, education, art, and play. Because we know past trauma lives on in the body, we may also use some body-based interventions to help free up and move stored experiences.
