I also offer email coaching which can be surprisingly effective, giving both of us the time to think before setting ourLet life coaching change your future! thoughts, questions and answers down in type.
Whichever method you choose, life coaching will be a challenging experience for you, requiring a high level of enthusiasm and commitment, but well worth the effort.
What is the difference between life coaching and psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is process oriented and addresses past issues, cognitive distortions and patterns that are holding you, the client back. During psychotherapy, you learn about your condition and your moods, feelings, thoughts and behaviors. Psychotherapy helps you learn how to take control of your life and respond to challenging situations with healthy coping skills.
Life coaching is goal oriented and addresses specific personal projects, business successes, general conditions and transitions in the client’s personal life, relationships or profession by examining what is going on right now, discovering what your obstacles or challenges might be, and choosing a course of action to make your life be what you want it to be. Life coaching stresses action, not process. Life coaching tends to be shorter term in duration and devoted to the present.
They are two very different modailities which each have merit and value. When we embark on a professional relationship you will be very aware which service you are receiving.
